East Hamilton tops Page 35-14

Posted: Updated:

OOLTEWAH, TN (WRCB) -- No Logan Jackson, no problem for East Hamilton.

The Hurricanes dismantled Page in the second round of the TSSAA 4A State Tournament, 35-14.

One week after losing RB Logan Jackson, who rushed for 1,624 yards with 25 touchdowns this season, Lamond Greer picked up the slack.

Greer scored the games first touchdown, one of three on the day.

Page quickly tied the game at 7 on the ensuing drive, but it was all Hurricanes after that.

Francisco Rodriguez picked up two second quarter sacks and while East Hamilton took a 21-7 halftime lead the defense kept Page quiet until a late fourth quarter score.

East Hamilton Head Coach Ted Gatewood said, "They came after us all night long and I thought our kids responded to it as the game went on but we gotta get better at some things."

East Hamilton (11-1) will travel to undefeated and top-seeded Giles County on Friday for a quarterfinal showdown.
