A new sheriff will soon be taking over in Dade County.

TRENTON, DADE COUNTY, GA (WRCB) -A new sheriff will soon be taking over in Dade County.

Incumbent Patrick Cannon lost the primary election to Ray Cross back in August.

Tuesday, Ray Cross defeated Phil Street by getting almost 55% of the vote.

It's the first time since 2004 that Dade County will have a new sheriff.
