There were more treats than tricks for Chattanooga Christian this Halloween at the TSSAA Girls State Soccer Championships.

The high-powered Chargers scored early and scored often Thursday in a 5-0 rout of Elizabethton on their home field in the Class A/AA state quarterfinals. CCS advances to face CPA in Thursday afternoon's semifinals.

Hannah Henry scored twice and added a second-half assist on Ashley Simmons' goal. Savanna Cignilli and Annie Reynolds also found the net as the Chargers improved to 16-4-4 on the year.

Cignilli and Henry gave CCS a 2-0 lead by the 21st minute, and the advantage remained into the half. Henry's second goal provided the breathing room just four minutes into the second half.

Chargers' keeper Ellen Stone tallied three saves, including a one-on-one stop in the final ten minutes against Elizabethton's best player, Christine Hardin.

White House 2, Notre Dame 1
Kendall Morrison's goal in the 57th minute proved to be the game-winner for White House, and season-ender for Notre Dame, in the Blue Devils' 2-1 win in the quarterfinals of the Class A/AA bracket.

White House controlled the tempo from the start, eventually taking an early lead on Kate Carney's tally in the 15th minute. The Irish did their best to regroup, finally pulling even on Blair Barker's goal off an Emma Higgins assist in the 44th minute.

But Notre Dame had few chances after that. White House controlled possession the rest of the way, finally breaking back through when Kaleigh Tuttle served up a wide-open Morrison in front of the net for the game-winner.

Notre Dame, who had beaten rival CCS in both the district and region championship games, bows out in the round of eight with an 11-3-5 mark.

Farragut 5, Soddy-Daisy 0
Soddy-Daisy's high-powered offense met its match Thursday at the TSSAA Girls State Soccer Championships.

Top-ranked and undefeated Farragut overwhelmed the Lady Trojans from the start, then used four second-half goals to pull away for a 5-0 win in the Class AAA state quarterfinals.

Soddy-Daisy keeper Baylee Burk was busy between the pipes. The sophomore registered eight saves, including a few acrobatic ones late in the first half that kept the Lady Trojans (18-3-3) within one goal at intermission, but couldn't stop them all.

After Chelsea Jordan's goal at the 10-minute mark provided the only scoring of the first half, Joanda Parchman scored twice in a one-minute span to break the match open in the second.

Parchman, who assisted on Jordan's first-half goal, finished a pass from Jordan in the 51st minute for a 2-0 lead. She added her second goal less than 60 seconds later for a three-goal advantage that all but sealed the win.

K.C. Ward and Katie Cloud closed out the scoring for Farragut (23-0-1), who advances to face Siegel in Thursday's state semifinals. The Admirals have been runners-up six times, including last year to Franklin, but have never won a state championship.
