Collegedale fugitive arrested at Brainerd Walmart

CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) -- The fugitive that led Collegedale Police in a pursuit that ended in the Green Shanty area this past Friday evening has been arrested.

Edward Lee Moore II was arrested Wednesday at the Brainerd Walmart after nearly a week-long man hunt.  The Chattanooga Police Department's Fugitive Division had received information as to Moore's whereabouts and was able to successfully capture him.

Moore is facing multiple felony charges from Collegedale Police and Hamilton County Sheriff's Office.  A court date has not yet been set.

The pursuit began around 7:40 p.m. this past Friday afternoon in the 9300 Block of Apison Pike, when an officer tried pulling the suspect over.

Collegedale officials told Channel 3 the suspect led the officer on a brief pursuit, which ended in the area of Green Shanty Road when the suspect hit an officer and other police cars.

The suspect ran from the scene and was able to elude officers.

The officer suffered minor injuries in the collision, but is expected to recover fully. Several vehicles suffered "significant" damage, according to an official.
