Murder suspect's fate lies in hands of grand jury

CHATTANOOGA (WRCB) - A grand jury will decide if the case of the man accused of murdering a 75 year old Chattanooga woman will move forward.

Reginald Mapp, Junior is charged with felony murder and especially aggravated robbery.

Police say Joanne Desha's adult children found her unresponsive on the floor of her Marco Circle home, after not being able to reach her by phone.

A judge sent the case to the Grand Jury Wednesday.

Mapp is being held on a $500,000 bond.
