Accidental shooting injures teenager

MEIG CO., TN (WRCB) - An accidental shooting in Meigs County sends one person to the hospital and one person to jail.

Dispatchers tell Channel 3 it happened around 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the residence of Thomas Brown on Carl Holt Lane.

A 17 years old boy was messing with a gun he thought was not loaded.  The gun discharged and hit him in the upper thigh. He went to a neighbor's home for help.  He was taken to the hospital where he was treated and released.

Brown was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant from Hamilton County.
