KNOXVILLE, TN (News Sentinel) -- The inmate who left a Monroe County Sheriff's Office work detail earlier this month surrendered Tuesday.
Ricky Gennoe turned himself in to the Sheriff's Office, according to a news release from Maj. Jennifer Bledsoe. He had walked away from a work details on Oct. 16, officials said.
The Sheriff's Office had received information that Gennoe was seen in McMinn County. Officers from Niota City, McMinn and Monroe counties responded to the area and conducted a search, authorities said.
Bledsoe said that Gennoe was not found at that time but turned himself in to the Sheriff's Office around 6 p.m. Tuesday.
