Carlton and Hill Win Forgotten Child Crappie Tournament

CHATTANOOGA (WRCB) - The 8th annual Forgotten Child Crappie Tournament was held at Harrison Bay State Park this Saturday, October 20, 2012. The event was hosted by local area anglers to help the Forgotten Child Fund collect toys for families who need a little help providing Christmas to their children.

The weather cooperated and made for a great day of fishing for the anglers. There were a total of 16 boats that participated in the tournament.

Tournament directors Dave Ohms and Steve Blackburn said, "We would like to thank everyone who supported this cause, and we are sure this will give some child a very nice Christmas. This is the main reason we have tournaments like this"

The team of Greg Carlton and Daniel Hill took first place and the $200 prize with total weight of 7lbs. 14oz.

Finishing in second place and winning $120 was the team of Brian Howard and David West with a total weight of 7lbs. The duo also won the Big fish pot and $75 with a crappie that weighed 1 lb. 8 oz.

Third place and $80 went to the team of Mike Johnston and Nick Long with a total weight of 6lbs.

  • Bobby Ramsey and Tabatha Ramsey with 5lbs. 2oz.                                     
  • Cody Rogers and Jarred Walker with 5lbs. 0oz.          
  • Candi Burrows and Dickey Porter with 4lbs. 12oz.                      
  • Greg Smith and Mike Sloan with 4lbs. 8oz.
  • Pat Linz and Mike Mayfield with 4lbs. 2oz.
