DEKALB COUNTY, AL (WRCB) -- Law enforcement officials in North Alabama followed up a lead on a stolen vehicle and ended up arresting three people on a variety of drug charges.

On Thursday, DeKalb County Sheriff Deputies Jeffrey Bain and Lt. Alfred Rigstad along with officers from Crossville and Geraldine arrived on scene at a residence on DeKalb County Road 405 in the Rodentown community to attempt to serve a probation violation warrant and to investigate a possible stolen vehicle that was located on the premises.

The Sheriff's office and Drug Task Force had also received numerous complaints about excessive traffic at all hours of the day that would come and go from this residence.

Upon arrival the officers gained consent to search the residence, at which time, 10 plus grams of ice methamphetamines, a small amount of marijuana, a stolen shotgun, and $2400.00 in cash were recovered.  DeKalb County Drug Task Force was notified and responded to the scene.

Heather Dowdy, Brian Maloy, and Natasha Abbott were all placed under arrest.

Dowdy was charged with possession of a controlled substance, marijuana 2nd, and possession of drug paraphernalia; Maloy was charged with possession of a controlled substance, receiving stolen property 2nd, and drug paraphernalia; and Abbott was also charged with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.

Sheriff Harris said that these drug arrests were made with the help and information received from the concerned citizens of the community. "Community information and input is a vital part of our continuing war against drugs," he said in a statement.
