CHATTANOOGA (WRCB) - Engel Stadium is preparing for more renovations as dozens came out to support the place filled with many memories.
Thursday night's event featured a "Knothole Gang" reunion, which started in the 1920's.
It began when Joe Engel started rewarding young boys, who did well in school, with baseball.
Former players, now in their 60's, 70's, and 80's, were out to show their support for the stadium as it progress towards a more frequently used venue.
The Engel Foundation is taking donations to help with the renovations.
The goal is to host between 100 and 150 events next year, including a screening of the new "42" movie that was filmed in the park.
Board members says there's a lot of work to be done towards the 83 year old stadium.
