Alstom CEO says nuclear business not developing as quickly as expected

CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) -- The CEO of Alstom Turbomachines in Chattanooga confirmed to a group of business leaders that nuclear business is not developing as quickly as the company thought.

Lawrence Quinn told the Chattanooga Rotary Club that Alstom has to pick up other non-nuclear business to keep employees busy.

One example of that business is a local rotor project deal that Alstom just made in China.

Quinn says Alstom has enough non-nuclear projects to keep the Chattanooga plant busy. He hopes nuclear energy orders pick back up in 2018.
