UPDATE: Death investigation on Layne Road

SODDY DAISY, TN. (WRCB) -- A death investigation is underway in Soddy Daisy Monday night.

Soddy Daisy Police tell Channel 3, a body has been found off Layne Road.

Chief Phil Hamrick says police are working to remove the remains from a remote area.

Hamrick says they will be taken to the medical examiner's office for identification, and to determine a cause of death.

The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office is assisting with the investigation.
