ROSSVILLE, GA (WRCB) -- A 72 year-old woman was struck and killed by a teen driver Wednesday afternoon at a shopping center on West Gordon Avenue in Rossville.
Rossville Police Chief Sid Adams says Brandon Lee Dillard, 19, hit Rosa Lee Hixon, 72, outside a tobacco store just after 4:00 p.m.
Adams said that Dillard had been in an argument with his girlfriend when he apparently lost control of his vehicle, striking Hixon as she was trying to get into her car.
Dillard then fled the scene, but was stopped shortly thereafter by Rossville Police.
He has been charged with vehicular homicide, reckless driving, driving while license suspended or revoked, no insurance, and leaving the scene of an accident.
Adams noted that Dillard was already on probation from prior traffic offenses.
