CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) -- U.S. Senator Bob Corker (R-TN) will be in Chattanooga on Friday to address the 2012 Southern Automotive Conference hosted by the Tennessee Automotive Manufacturers Association.

Corker will deliver introductory remarks prior to a panel discussion on original equipment manufacturers.

As mayor of Chattanooga from 2001 to 2005, Corker worked with officials and community leaders to develop the 1,200 acre industrial site that is now home to Enterprise South and the Volkswagen U.S. production facility.

Much of the negotiation that led to Volkswagen choosing Chattanooga occurred around the dining room table of Senator Corker's Chattanooga home.
