STATE COLLEGE, PA (AP) -- Jerry Sandusky has been sentenced to at least 30 years in prison in the child sexual abuse scandal.
The sentence comes three months after a jury convicted Sandusky on 45 counts of child sexual abuse.
The sentence means the 68-year-old former assistant football coach will be in prison at least until he's nearly 100 years old.
Penn state media outlets obtained an exclusive statement from Sandusky on the eve of his sentencing.
In the statement, he maintains his innocence, saying the case was based on false accusations and he didn't have a fair opportunity to prepare for trial.
