RED BANK, TN. (WRCB) -- Channel 3 has learned Red Bank Elementary's PTA president has been charged with theft.
According to the Hamilton County arrest report, 29-year-old Doris J. Mizzell was booked on charges of theft under $500 and fraudulent use of a credit or debit card Saturday.
Last week, Channel 3 reported that the Hamilton County Department of Education is investigating the Red Bank Elementary School PTA's financial books.
School officials say numbers aren't adding up in the PTA's bank account, and purchases and payments are said to be irregular.
It's not entirely clear how the problems were found.
Channel 3 has not been able to confirm Mizzell's arrest is linked to the investigation, but court records show she has faced similar charges half a dozen times since 2008.
She's scheduled for court October 23.
