KNOXVILLE, TN (News Sentinel) --  A discarded big-screen TV on the sidewalk outside the Pi Kappa Alpha house was among the few remnants left behind following a Sunday evening deadline for the ousted University of Tennessee fraternity chapter to leave campus.

UT officials shut down the Zeta chapter and ordered the fraternity house closed in the wake of last month's drunken "blackout party" that nearly killed a student and brought worldwide attention to an alleged alcohol enema stunt.

The chapter's president, George Bock, pleaded guilty to eight charges of student conduct violations, including six from a Sept. 21 party that sent Pike member Alexander Price Broughton, 20, of Memphis, to the emergency room with a nearly 0.45 percent blood alcohol level. The two other charges stemmed from an Aug. 31 discovery of beer cans and bottles, and a beer bong during a UT police walk-through of the house.

The chapter agreed to surrender its charter as part of a plea, and it won't be allowed to reorganize before at least spring 2015, although campus officials could decide to extend the suspension.
