Cool, damp start to the week

CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB-TV) -- We start the week with a cool, wet Monday (Columbus Day). Showers will fall in may areas of the Tennessee Valley with most temperatures not escaping the 50s. Showers will end in the eastern counties by early evening.

Clearing skies with light winds tonight will lead to very chilly weather with 30s and scattered frost on the Cumberland Plateau, 40s in Chattanooga.

The rest of the week brings warmer temperatures with lows eventually returning to the 50s and highs in the 70s to near 80 by the weekend.
