Child bitten by suspected bed bugs in East Ridge motel

Posted: Updated:

EAST RIDGE, TN (WRCB) -- Information released today show that East Ridge Police responded to the Days Inn on Ringgold Road this past Tuesday in reference to a report of bed bugs.

The parent filing the complaint had recently taken their juvenile child to the doctor and had been informed that the child had received insect bites consistent with bed bugs.

Upon returning to their room at the Days Inn the parent found that there were bed bugs in the room and called police. East Ridge Police arrived and filed an initial field report on the incident.

East Ridge Codes Enforcement Personnel responded to the room for inspection. Upon their arrival the room had already been cleaned out, and the motel management had already begun arrangement for the room to be treated.

During the codes enforcement inspection of the room there was no remaining indication of bed bug infestation in the room.
