CHATTANOOGA (WRCB-TV) -- After some dense fog this Thursday morning plenty of sunshine returns, warming us well into the 70s to around 80 degrees this afternoon. High pressure remains over the Tennessee Valley tonight and will cool us into the upper 40s and lower 50s by early morning. Friday afternoon will be warm again with mostly sunny skies.

A weak cold front slips through the region this weekend, bringing a low chance of showers each day with highs Saturday in the 70s, slipping to the 60s Sunday. Sweater weather is upon us by Monday morning as temperatures drop into the 40s area-wide.

If you can't enjoy a nice vacation down in the Gulf of Mexico, maybe we can bring a little bit of the gulf to you! Those warmer winds will spawn a few isolated storms this afternoon as highs reach the mid 80s.
