Dining out this weekend? The inspectors at the Hamilton County Health Department had a good week with no failing grades to report. Jack Falcon at the Health Department tells me his staff has been busy working with FEMA doing drills to help first responders in case of a nuclear evacuation.
Ten restaurants were visited and we do have a low score of 79; remember a failing grade is anything lower than a 70.
Inspectors visited El Palomino on Rossville Blvd and found several violations; improperly storing raw meat, a microwave that was filthy, freezer and cooler were rusty, dead insects inside light fixture shield and there were unlabeled food items. Once again they score a 79.
The high score congratulations goes to Lupis on Jenkins Road. They always do great according to inspectors, with a score this time of 97.
Remember if you have a complaint about a restaurant call the Hamilton County Health Department hotline at (423) 209-8110 or email your complaint to me and I will send it on.
