CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) -- With the growing concern over synthetic drug use, on Tuesday Chattanooga Police narcotics officers concluded a four month undercover investigation, searching area smoke shops for synthetic drugs.

Four area stores were investigated and synthetic drugs with an estimated value of $250,000 were seized.

Officers seized synthetic marijuana, synthetic cocaine, synthetic mushrooms and drug paraphernalia. 

The stores that were involved in this investigation are Bikers Emporium at 5829 Lee Hwy, The Pipe One Store at 6215 Lee Highway, The Smoke One Store at 2101 McCallie Ave, and The Smoke Stack at 5012 Hwy. 58.

There were also nine arrests made during the investigation:

  • Scott Smith, 30
  • Christopher Wright, 40
  • Forrest Anez, 29
  • Diana Anez, 27
  • Jose Aguilar, 47
  • Maria Ibarra, 41
  • Ronald Cameron, 40
  • Tommy Dean, 41

Each suspect is charged with possession of controlled substance analogue for resale.

This case is pending and the investigation is ongoing.
