CHATTANOOGA (WRCB) - McKamey Animal Center is one of seven shelters in the country taking part in a life-saving effort.
The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals , or ASPCA, announced the "Dog Rescue Project" Monday. A million dollars will be used for much needed treatments and services for shelter dogs and puppies, and transferring them to shelters where they'll have a better chance of finding permanent homes.
The goal is to save more than 16,000 dogs before the end of May 2013.
