Reward money offered in missing man case

MARION COUNTY, TN. (WRCB) -- The six-month mark of Roger Tant's disappearance has passed and still no new leads in the case.

Neighbor James Blevins says Tant was a homebody and since being reported missing he has had questions of his own.

He finds it strange it took Tant's sister, not his wife, to report him missing months after no one heard from him.

"I talked to him from time to time, but he more or less took care of his chickens and stayed in his house," says Blevins.

Marion County Sheriff "Bo" Burnett says, "That has made it hard on us and everyone else, but it is an odd case to me."

Burnett has led several search teams in the areas around Tant's home and the woods near Blevins' property.

The one place investigators haven't searched is Tant's house.

Burnett says his wife has refused to talk to investigators, creating dead ends.

"It would be a great help if we can sit down and talk to her, but she has an attorney and he has instructed us not to talk to her," Burnett says.

With a heavy price tag looming, the search teams have been put on hold until new information breaks.

Burnett, however, has now added a $1,000 reward to the case as incentive for new leads.

Blevins hopes this effort will shed light on his neighbor's disappearance.

You are urged to call the Marion County Sheriff's Office if you have any information on the case.
