CHATTANOOGA (WRCB) - Local teachers went on a shopping spree for school supplies over the weekend.
It's all the result of the "Stuff the Bus" campaign.
Hundreds of teachers were on hand sorting through supplies.
There were over $25,000 of much needed items donated.
The program is geared at helping teachers and students get proper items for the school year.
Many times teacher pay out of pocket to stock their classroom.
"Stuff the Bus" officials say 6 out of 10 kids in Hamilton County come from families with low incomes.
