CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) -- The volley of letters continues between the Freedom From Religion Foundation and Ridgeland High School, with the latest one sent by the FRFF to Damon Raines, Superintendent of the Walker County Schools.

The letter begins "Thank you for your prompt response. We are pleased to hear that the Bible is no longer being used to motivate in any public school setting."

In the original letter from August, Ridgeland High School football Coach Mark Mariakis is accused by the complainant of shuttling players to different churches for pre-game meals and "at these events the church's preacher sermonizes to the players about the Christian religion."

Mariakis has stated publicly that the program "opens the door for some of the kids" and is "a way of meeting the need of the churches." Ministers will "bless the food" and according to one church, "presented the Gospel of Jesus Christ" to the players.

The latest letter addresses several points, such as Mariakis appearance at a prayer rally and how he may have been introduced at the prayer rally.
