Hard work pays off for one restaurant

Posted:

CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) -- Dining out this weekend? The inspectors at the Hamilton County Health Department had a good week with 25 restaurants inspected.

We do have good news and bad news for one Mexican restaurant in Ooltewah. Remember a failing grade is anything lower than a 70.

The bad for Tres Amigos on Lee Highway, only open for six months. At a score of 65 they failed their inspection; dented cans, ground beef and rice out of temperature, poor hygiene, no hot water at any of their hand sinks and there were unlabeled toxic items in the kitchen.

But according to Inspector Jack Falcon, the team at the restaurant got right on it and corrected all critical violations immediately and brought their score up to an excellent standing with the health department.

Speaking of hard work, the high score goes to Starbucks on Highway 153,  with a 94.

Inspectors are still visiting Hamilton County schools, checking out everything from the locker room to the kitchen and bathrooms.

Remember, if you have a complaint about a restaurant, call the Hamilton County Health Department Hotline at (423) 209-8110 or email your complaint and I will send it on to the inspectors> And, as I say each week - enjoy your meal.
