PIKEVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - New Pikeville Mayor Philip Cagle is pledging to rebuild public trust.

Cagle said Friday that would be his first order of business as he takes over the post from Greg Johnson, who resigned Sept. 1 after being charged with official misconduct and theft. Cagle will serve the remaining three years of Johnson's term.

Cagle told The Chattanooga Times Free Press (http://bit.ly/SoYgZV) that city workers are ready to get "back on track."

A report from the state comptroller's office found Johnson cost the city $250,000 because of fraud, waste and abuse.
