DALTON, GA (WRCB) -- Lt. Chris West, coalition coordinator with Safe Kids Dalton, which operates under the direction of the Whitfield County Fire Department, expressed thanks to the Roman Open Charity Golf Tournament for a recent $3,000 donation to Safe Kids.

"Their generous donation allowed us to purchase 50 new child safety seats that will be used in Whitfield County and the city of Dalton to give children that are not properly restrained a safe means of being transported in vehicles," West said.

Safe Kids Of Dalton along with agencies from Whitfield County and the city of Dalton will be conducting a Child Safety Seat Check on Saturday, Sept. 29 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the North Georgia Fairgrounds.

"We will have several certified seat technicians on hand to check child safety seats," West said.
