CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) -- Hamilton County Jail staff discovered water damage in both the Corrections Training Room and the Commissary area of the Hamilton County Jail building early Saturday morning around 6:30 a.m.
The staff was advised that some construction work being done in the immediate area surrounding the jail resulted in a underground water leak.
After consultation between Tennessee American Water Company and other utility companies, the damaged water main is being repaired and this will not affect the water supply to the Hamilton County Jail.
The water damage found in the Corrections Training Room and Commissary area is being cleaned. At this time the problem has not impacted the jail population.
