(WRCB) - AARP is asking Tennesseans to participate in its days of service campaign by fighting hunger.
This month volunteers around the state will be serving at local food banks, collecting donations at neighborhood Walgreens stores and educating people about help that is available to feed their families.
The group also is encouraging non-members to help by giving food, time and money.
The week of September 9th, Walgreens stores will be collecting $1 donations that will go to one of five Feeding America Food Banks across the state.
AARP is offering a free reusable grocery bag to the first 500 people who volunteer.
