WHITFIELD COUNTY, GA. (WRCB) -- A decline in fall enrollment this semester means tough times at Dalton State College.

According to a release, the eight percent decline has resulted in a $455,000 loss in operating funds.

On top of low enrollment, the college has also had to reduce state allocation by three percent.

Because of the cuts, Dalton State has scheduled two furlough days this semester.

Administrators estimate as many as 200 students were denied admission this year, because of the school's new higher admission standards.
