(WRCB) - Former State Senator John Ford has been released from federal prison after serving four years for his role in the Tennessee Waltz extortion scandal.
The 70-year-old will spend the remainder of his sentence in a Memphis halfway house.
Ford went to prison in 2008 after he was convicted of taking more than $50,000 in cash from undercover agents posing as businessmen seeking favors in the Tennessee legislature.
Ten others were convicted and have served their sentences.
Ford's 5 year sentence ends in February.
