Posted: Updated:

CHATTANOOGA (WRCB) - Chattanooga police are piecing together two shootings that happened only hours apart.

The first, just after 10:00 p.m. Tuesday, a 16 year old was shot in the arm.

Police tell us he was standing on the front porch of a home on Talladega Avenue.

The gunman opened fire on the victim, but no other suspect description was given.

The teen was treated at the hospital for non life threatening injuries.

The second shooting was on Windsor Street at 1:00 a.m. Wednesday morning.

Twenty nine year old Shaphan Word is in critical condition after being shot while walking down the street.

CPD officials say the two shootings do not appear to be connected or linked to any gangs, but they do think both victims were targeted.
