Restaurant Report Card: The highs and one low

Posted: Updated:

(WRCB) -- Hamilton County restaurant inspectors hit the streets again this week but these environmental health specialists were busy visiting area pools and school cafeterias instead of restaurants.

They have a lot to check out in Hamilton County, but they did manage to visit about 17 restaurants and no failing grades to report. Remember a grade of anything below 70 fails.

However the low score can be found at El Matador on Lee Highway in Ooltewah. Inspectors found sour cream out of temperature, employees were not sanitizing utensils properly, cutting boards need replacing and the inside of the freezer that needs a good cleaning. El Matador scores a 75.

With the low comes the high and we say congratulations to Pork Chops Bar and Grill on Ringgold Road and Five Guys Burger and Fries on Hixson Pike for scoring a 94....great job!

If you have a complaint or question about a restaurant, health club, school or daycare, call the Hamilton County Health Department hot line at209-8110.

Have a great weekend and enjoy your meal.
