WHITFIELD COUNTY, GA. (WRCB) -- A man is charged with vehicular homicide after two people died in a crash over the weekend.
It happened around 7:15 Saturday morning on Interstate 75.
The Georgia State Patrol says 26-year-old Alejandro Vega-Carmona was driving a Ford pickup truck when he lost control, hit a guardrail and flipped several times.
The two passengers in the bed of the truck were ejected. Both, including 19-year-old Victor Osbaldo Benitez, were killed.
The name of the second passenger is not being released until their family has been notified.
The GSP says it's likely Vega-Carmona fell asleep behind the wheel.
Vega-Carmona is charged with second degree vehicular homicide, failure to maintain lane, and driving while unlicensed.
