DALTON (WRCB) - A diamond ring dropped into a Salvation Army red kettle during the holidays has brought a pretty penny to the organization in Dalton.
Last week, someone bought the ring for $3100.
Several people had bid on the ring. It was a round, brilliant cut diamond just over one carat set in 14 carat white gold.
The money will go a long way to help the Salvation Army help those in need.
The donor put the ring in a plain white envelope and placed it in the kettle, a note was attached, it said the organization could use the diamond more than they could.
