Dekalb County corrections officer cited for DUI
DEKALB COUNTY, AL (WRCB) -- Lucas Yancey, a DeKalb County, AL Corrections Officer, was charged with DUI by the Alabama State Troopers Office around one o'clock Friday morning.
Sheriff Jimmy Harris says that Yancey had apparently left the roadway, causing damage to a dwelling on County Road 72 in Fyffe.
He was transported by ambulance to DeKalb Regional Medical Center where he was treated and released later this morning. Yancey had no serious injuries.
"It's an unfortunate incident," said Sheriff Harris. "Lucas is an outstanding corrections officer and is a great asset to the DeKalb County Sheriff's Office."
Yancey was placed on administrative leave until his court date which is set for August 22.
The case is still under investigation by the Alabama State Troopers Office.
