Decision Made: No Sunday alcohol sales on Ft. Oglethorpe ballot

Posted: Updated:

FORT OGLETHORPE, GA. (WRCB) – Fort Oglethorpe voters will not have the final say on Sunday alcohol sales in November.

Monday, city council members voted 3-2 to not allow two measures for Sunday alcohol sales on the election ballot.

One measure lets you buy it by the drink in restaurants between 12:30 p.m. and midnight. The second one lets you buy it by the bottle in a package store during those same hours.

Fort Oglethorpe City Manager Ron Goulart told Channel 3 Sunday the measures mirror those Catoosa County voted to include on the ballot for voters in the county's unincorporated areas.

In Ringgold, city council members saw things differently.

Councilman Nick Millwood tells Channel 3, council members unanimously voted in favor of putting the same measures for Sunday alcohol sales on the November ballot.
