Posted: Updated:

DALTON, GA (WRCB) -- The Dalton Police Department is asking for the public's help with identifying a man who loaded up a grocery cart with merchandise at the Shugart Road Walmart and then hastily pushed it out the front door without paying.

The incident happened just before 2:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 12th.

The suspect, a white male with gray hair, glasses, and a short gray goatee, placed several items in his shopping cart and then immediately made his way out of the store, getting into a green Dodge Caravan minivan.

A store employee reported that the minivan did not have a license plate, but did have a butterfly sticker on one of the passenger side windows.  The suspect wore a black t-shirt and blue jean shorts.

Anyone with information on the identity of this suspect is asked to please contact Detective Jason Bishop with the Dalton Police Department at (706) 278-9085, extension 214.
