5-year-old Leland and 3-year-old River Bates
BRADLEY COUNTY, TN. (WRCB) – The mother of two Bradley County brothers, who died last month after over-heating, has been charged with murder.
Sheriff's Office Spokesman Bob Gault says 26-year-old Natasha Bates is charged with two counts of felony murder, two counts of aggravated child abuse / endangerment, four counts of initiation of manufacture of methamphetamine, and one count of promotion of methamphetamine manufacture.
Gault says the investigation and statements revealed 3-year-old River and 5-year-old Leland Bates had been left in a car and died from hyperthermia.
Family members told Channel 3 the boys were playing on a slip and slide, when they were found.
Gault says the drug charges against Moses are the result of a search of her home on Keith Valley Road last week.
Natasha Moses is being held without bond. Arraignment is set for Aug. 13 in Bradley County Criminal Court.
