CHATTANOOGA (WRCB) -- A Chattanooga Police officer, shot in the line of duty, was honored Friday. The Military Order of the Purple Heart presented Officer Lorin Johnston with a plaque.
He was shot twice responding to an armed-robbery on Brainerd Road last April.
It's the same day Sergeant Tim Chapin was shot and killed.
The Military Order of the Purple Heart recognizes first responders who have been hurt in the line of duty.
Holidays mean family gatherings, which can result in hugs and kisses, and of course, some social awkwardness.
