Ooltewah High summer camp features skateboard art

Posted: Updated:

OOLTEWAH, TN. (WRCB) --  Carrie Cook's annual art camp at Ooltewah High School is more popular than ever, thanks to local artist Brent Sanders.  At Wednesday's class, students ranging from elementary to high school age painted skateboards, either for their own use, or as gifts.

Chattanooga artist Brent Sanders visited the class, showing samples of his award-winning work and encouraging students to use their imagination.  Most students painted the skateboards to reflect their favorite sports team, pop culture heroes or music stars.

When asked if they missed sleeping late or playing video games while in school during mid-July, students said the 8 a.m. start time could be a rude awakening, but the art camp itself was a great way to spend their time.
