Lookouts keep rolling with 5-3 win in Huntsville

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WRCB) -- Nick Buss and J.T. Wise each drove in a pair of runs and Matt Magill pitched six solid innings to lead Chattanooga to a 5-3 win at Huntsville on Thursday night.

The Lookouts (10-5) have now won eight of their last ten to maintain a one-game lead over Birmingham in the Southern League's North Division.

Magill (6-4) gave up just one earned run on one hit and one walk while striking out five. He also doubled in the fifth and scored the go-ahead run on Rafael Ynoa's single for a 2-1 Chattanooga lead.

Wise pinch-hit for Magill in the seventh and delivered a two-run double to center to push the advantage to 4-1, then scored the Lookouts' final tally on Buss' sacrifice bunt.

Bunt also drove in Chattanooga's first run on a third-inning single.

Huntsville rallied with two runs off Chris Withrow in the eighth, but Steven Ames got the final out of the inning and then pitched a perfect ninth for his eighth save.

The two teams will play the rubber match of the brief three-game series Friday night before Chattanooga travels to Tennessee on Saturday.
