UTC basketball to visit Kansas in this season

Posted: Updated:

CHATTANOOGA (WRCB) -- The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga men's basketball hasn't released it's non-conference schedule for the upcoming 2012-13 season.

But perennial powerhouse Kansas has, and the Mocs are on it.

According to a release from KU athletics, Chattanooga will travel to Lawrence on Friday, November 16 to play at Allen Fieldhouse as part of the CBE Hall of Fame Classic. The matchup will be the Jayhawks' third non-conference game of the year, and second of four games in the CBE Classic.

The Mocs, who are 0-2 all-time against Kansas, will be making their second trip to Lawrence. Kansas beat Chattanooga 90-76 during the 2003-04 regular season. The only other matchup between the two teams was a 102-73 Kansas win at a neutral site during the 1994 NCAA Tournament.

The game is the latest in a series of major non-conference tests for the Mocs, who played road games at Indiana and eventual national champion Kentucky last season.

The Jayhawks finished national runners-up this past season, losing to Kentucky in the national title game.
