CLEVELAND, TN. (WRCB) -- The overnight storms left about 5,000 Tennessee Valley homes and businesses in the dark.
A spokesperson for Volunteer Energy Cooperative says as of 7:30 Monday morning, around 800 people in Cleveland and Polk County are without power.
The utility says heavy lightening and strong winds are to blame.
Crews have been working to restore outages throughout the night and are expected to finish by late morning.
