CHEROKEE NATIONAL FOREST, POLK CO., TN (WRCB) - The U.S. Forestry Service is battling three separate fires in part of the Cherokee National Forest located in Polk County.
Crews have been battling the flames for several days.
The first fire started at Goforth Creek on Monday and has consumed 223 acres.
Thursday's fires started at Coon Creek and Iron Mountain Chase. Fifty acres have been burned so far at Coon Creek and 400 acres at Iron Mountain Chase. It will be several more days until these fires will be contained because of the conditions.
