LIVELINES: DENTAL CALLS
Tennesseeans don't have a lot to smile about when it comes to our dental health.
A recent report says the volunteer state ranks among the nation's worst. Dr. Elenora Woods was our guest this morning.
She told us she is not surprised by these findings. We also discussed some of the results.
-only 66 percent of Chattanoogans had a dental visit the past year
-19.1% of 18-64 year olds have lost six or more teeth
-more than 53,000 visited the emergency room for dental problems in Tennessee
Dr. Woods also stressed that dental health is related to your overall health. Gum disease is linked to heart disease, lung disease, and diabetes.
