Stephan Jaeger Named SoCon Golfer of the Month
CHATTANOOGA (UTC) -- Chattanooga Mocs senior Stephan Jaeger added to his numerous honors with the Southern Conference Golfer of the Month Award for April the league office announced today. It's the third time in his career he's received the monthly honor to go with four weekly ones.
Jaeger tied former Furman star Brad Faxon for the SoCon Championship record winning by an astounding 11 shots. He shot rounds of 66, 72 and 69 for a 54-hole total of nine-under par 207. UTC won by 19 strokes, the largest margin of victory since ETSU topped College of Charleston in 2001 which was also by 19 at Chattanooga Golf & Country Club.
Stephan was also named the league's Golfer of the Year following the SoCon Championship. He is the only three-time winner of the award. The SoCon Championship win was the third of his career tying Jonathan Hodge (2006-09) and Bryce Ledford (2004-07) for most in school history.
