Judge denies Sam Parker a new trial

LAFAYETTE, GA. (Times Free Press) -- Walker County Superior Court Judge Jon Wood denied a motion to give convicted killer Sam Parker a new trial.

Parker was in court April 12 when his attorney argued the former LaFayette police officer didn't receive a fair trial.

Parker was convicted of killing his wife, Theresa, in 2009. His wife was a 911 dispatcher.

Attorney David Dunn argued his client should receive a new trial based on new evidence found when Theresa Parker's bones were discovered in 2010.
